Cockroach Growth Stages
Stages of Cockroach Life Cycle
To understand any pest, we must first learn its life cycle. Cockroaches go through three stages – egg, nymph and adult. This process is known as incomplete metamorphosis. The entire life cycle can take over a year, and adult cockroaches may live for another year depending on the species.
Female cockroaches lay egg cases called ootheca, containing 10–40 eggs. These hatch into immature nymphs, which grow and develop into fully mature adults capable of rapid reproduction, leading to large infestations in a short time.
