Bee Growth Stages
Stages of the Bee Life Cycle
Bees undergo complete metamorphosis in four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. This process allows bee colonies to grow efficiently and maintain their structure. The duration of the life cycle depends on the bee species, environmental conditions, and seasonal activity.
The cycle begins with the queen laying eggs, which hatch into larvae, then develop into pupae, and finally emerge as adult bees. The entire development process usually takes between 16–24 days depending on the bee’s role in the colony.
Understanding the bee life cycle is important for effective bee control. Many DIY methods only target visible bees, while the colony continues to grow. Professional bee removal focuses on identifying the stage and location of the hive to safely manage and prevent infestations.
