Common Silverfish (Lepisma saccharinum)
- Identification: It is a slender, wingless insect with a flattened body and is identified by its shiny scales and agile behaviour.
- Size: 10–12 mm
- Colour: Silvery-grey with metallic shine
- Habitat: Found in undisturbed damp and humid areas like bathrooms, kitchens, bookcases, storage rooms and ceilings.
- Feeding Habits: Feeds mainly on starchy materials such as paper, glue and fabrics.
